Got Beaten By the Bear

“Bear Complex”

7 sets of the following sequence:
Power Clean
Front Squat
Push Press
Back Squat
Push Press

Complete 5 rounds.
Rest as needed between sets.
Record loads for each round.

Time does not permit me to finish the workout today. Gotta catch a movie. Great excuse. The truth is I was hurting pretty badly. I started way too heavy with 60kg hoping to go beyond 70kg today. I stopped on set short on 70kg because I just couldn’t lift up the bar anymore. This is reserved for another day. Probably one of the most mentally challenging workout that exists.

Every minute, on the minute, for 20 minutes, do:
1 Power Clean
1 Front Squat
1 Push Press
1 Back Squat
1 Push Press

I wasn’t sure about the 80kg at first mainly because of my inability to rest the bar properly on my shoulders. It turned out alright in the end.

Tabata Burpees

9, 8, 7, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6

This got nasty in the end but I managed at least to be very consistent.

“Beruang Rumit”

7 sets of the following sequence:
Power Clean
Front Squat
Push Press
Back Squat
Push Press
Complete 5 rounds.
Rest as needed between sets.
Record loads for each round.

40kg, 50, 55, 60 (6), 70 (4)

It felt really good during the first four rounds. Bar slipped off my hands on the final set of the fourth round. But I knew I could complete it. For the 70kg, it was a matter of being able to sustain my grip on the bar. Having a stronger power clean would have helped. Time to work on those. I think this is a good workout that doesn’t actually kills you for the next few days.
